Piano Workshops

Piano Kids Beginner Workshop (ages 5-8)

This session is for students that are complete beginners to one year of piano. Students will explore the fundamentals of piano such as finger numbers, the music alphabet, and basic rhythms. Students will learn new songs and have the opportunity to perform for their peers during class.


Piano Masters 1

This is for students that are currently in level 1 in their piano repertoire. Students will cover a variety of topics including personal composition, intervals, and beginning chords. Students will strengthen their note reading skills. Students will also explore new songs, enhance practice skills, and have the opportunity to perform for their peers during class.


Piano Kids Beginner Workshop (ages 9-12)

This session is for students that are complete beginners to one year of piano. Students will explore the fundamentals of piano such as finger numbers, the music alphabet, and basic rhythms. Students will learn new songs and have the opportunity to perform for their peers during class.


Piano Masters 2 & Beyond (Intermediate)

This session is for students that are level 2 and beyond in piano. Students will want to bring the music they are currently working on in their lessons to practice. There will be practice time for students. Topics that will be covered during this session: personal composition, intervals, chord inversions, and lead sheets. Students will have the opportunity to explore new songs, enhance their practice and sight-reading skills, and have the opportunity to perform for their peers in class.

Marie Vavro-Clise, Instructor

Marie Vavro-Clise has a Bachelor of Science in Music from the University of Michigan. She has performed with the Detroit Opera Theater as well as performed in several countries in Europe. She enjoys teaching voice and piano to children and adults of all musical abilities.
