David Lamse

David Lamse is a concert violinist and music educator with over 25 years experience in performance and pedagogy. Mr. Lamse was the director of the Jackson Community Music School from 2015-18 and he currently holds the James A Grace Family Associate Concertmaster Chair of the Jackson Symphony Orchestra. He is also the Assistant Principal Second Violin of the Ann Arbor Symphony, a supplemental violinist with the Toledo Symphony, and has served as a Guest Concertmaster of the Lansing Symphony and Michigan Philharmonic. David recently appeared in recital at Middlebury College, Grand Rapids Art Museum, Flint Institute of Music, Strings on the Bay music festival, Eastern Michigan University, and Klavierhaus NYC. David has performed 20 National Broadway Tours and many live concerts with popular and classical artists. He taught on the music faculty of Point CounterPoint music camp for 13 summers, where he was named music director of the Adult Chamber Workshop and performed over sixty chamber concerts throughout New England. Other faculty positions have included the Ann Arbor School for the Performing Arts, Clarkston Conservatory of Music, and St. Francis of Assisi. He has also given masterclasses at Eastern Michigan University, Pioneer High School, and the NEST+m school in New York City. David received two degrees in violin performance from Michigan State University and also studied at the University of Michigan while a fellowship student in the Specialist program.
