Brandon Marceal picked up the flute at age 11—and never put it down. With over 20 years of professional performance experience and more than 15 years of teaching, he combines deep musical artistry with a solid educational foundation. A former attendee of Interlochen National Music Camp, Brandon has worked with students across all levels—from their first notes to advanced concert literature and audition preparation.
His teaching approach emphasizes tone, phrasing, technique, and confidence, with a repertoire that spans foundational works like Gossec’s Gavotte, Marcello’s Sonata in F, and Bach’s Sonata in E Minor, all the way to advanced pieces such as Debussy’s Syrinx, Faure’s Sicilienne, and Hue’s Fantasie. Brandon also regularly incorporates essential etudes and technical studies from Andersen, Moyse (De la Sonorité), and Taffanel & Gaubert to develop strong fundamentals and musical expression.
While he is nationally recognized as a contemporary jazz recording artist—with music featured on SiriusXM Watercolors and the Smooth Jazz Network—his passion for teaching and mastery of standard flute repertoire allow him to guide students with clarity, structure, and inspiration. Whether preparing for youth ensembles, college auditions, or solo recitals, Brandon equips his students with the tools and mindset needed for artistic growth and musical excellence.
