Stephanie has had many fantastic moments in her career so far. One of her major highlights was performing a challenging concerto (Concierto Pastoral by Rodrigo) for her Masters recital this past winter.

The Flute

According to Stephanie the flute is a wonderful instrument and she unbiasedly thinks that it’s the best! It is often used in an orchestra as a technical embellishment or as a beautiful high melody. Many famous orchestral excerpts for flute use it to imitate a bird.

Personal Tidbits

Stephanie’s has a tip for students. If you become frustrated when practicing and can’t seem to accomplish what you want, it’s ok to move on to another to another section of your piece and go back to the original section later. Remember to be gentle on yourself.

Stephanie will be performing with the Flint Symphony on Respighi’s La Boutique Fantasque Suite Saturday, November 9 at Whiting Auditorium. She will also be performing The Nutcracker with the Flint Symphony on December 7 at 7:30 pm and December 8 at 3 pm.
